The Heritage Stool 002 is my take on the 17th Century Flemish painting by David Teniers the Younger titled "The Smoker." Constructed from a rescued & recycled door in a dumpster, this stool gives a second life to wood that would otherwise go to the landfill. Los Angeles is a renter's paradise, but with that flexible living comes mass waste at every street corner and alley throughout the city. The Heritage Collection focuses on repurposing material and retelling the history of furniture through the lens of my cultural background.
