The Heritage Stool 001 is my take on the classic milking stool and revisits my Irish farming ancestry. Constructed from a childhood kitchen door, this stool gives a second life to wood that would otherwise go to the landfill. Recycling of material was common in Ireland post British colonization, which depleted Ireland of its natural resources and forced the indigenous into poverty. The Heritage Collection focuses on repurposing material and retelling the history of furniture through the lens of my cultural background.
